Using Context to Understand Security Risk

The total number of vulnerabilities may be on the decline, according to the latest HP Cyber Security Risk Report, the number of remotely expoitable critical vulnerabilities is on the rise. While companies have put a significant effort into securing data at rest, big data means that securing active data is a bigger threat. Many of the same solution that provide analysis of social networks for business insights can provide a clear picture of how bad actors behave, when they act, and what they may be planning. Jason Lancaster, a security researcher at HP, took some time to explain the evolving threats impacting businesses of all sizes during this year's HP Discover.
